New data extract files are now produced daily from the new Avis Europe website platform (see avis.co.uk ) for Avis Europe B2B partner use.

To ensure that the model name matches the fleet image for this car group please use the model name obtained from the fleet.dat ftp site file.
The reason for the possible discrepancy is that Direct Connect reflects the car description used by the US Avis business (Cendant Car Rental Group) rather than by Avis Europe.
- Vehicle images are linked to the car group descriptions by means of the file name. Not every vehicle in the data will have a corresponding image
File name format: xxx_y_lrg01.jpg or xxx_y_sml01.gif
xxx – region code
y – car group
NB the 01 at the end of the file will always be 01
The xxx code relates to a region_code. This and the car group letter in the image enables you to tie the data (keyed on region and group) to the image
IMPORTANT NOTE: the data and images are volatile so that over time a group A car in Portugal may be say, an Opel Corsa or a Renault Clio. This implies that image updates need to be carried out at the same time as data updates.
